Dementia Care - How Live-in Care Can Make A Real Difference

Dementia Care - How Live In Care Can Help

Live-in care can make a real difference to people living with dementia by helping them live an independent life in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by their memories and enabling them to remain connected with their familiar daily routines.

According to Alzheimer's Society there are 850,000 people in the UK who are living with dementia. By 2025 this will increase to 1 million people. Although dementia is typically associated with elderly, people as young as 33 can develop early onset dementia.

Live-in Care For Dementia

People living with dementia can find it hard to complete daily tasks which is something in home care for dementia patients can help with. From cooking nutritious home cooked meals to ensuring you are getting all the nutrients and vitamins necessary, to ironing and cleaning - your live in carer can be the helping hand you need. Our live-in carers are trained in all stages of dementia and many have years of invaluable experience looking after people with the condition.

Loneliness can have an effect on people living with dementia - elderly people marked with a high level of loneliness are twice as likely to get Alzheimer's than those who find themselves regularly in the company of others. A live-in carer can be the companion you want who will take you to social activities, is there to enjoy activities together such as gardening, playing cards, or even watching a movie together. Your carer can also help host friends and family, as well as take you to family gatherings, improving quality of life.

Being able to stay in the familiar surroundings of your own home can delay the onset of dementia symptoms as you will avoid the stress of moving into a care home - which can be a tricky experience even for those people living without the condition.
