White Iced Tea Recipe

Live-in Carer drinking tea with elderly lady in the garden

Here at Access Care, the summer has flown by! September is here and the school year started again for children across the UK. Although September is largely known as ‘back to school’ month across the UK, the Anglo-Saxons knew it as Gerst Monath (Barley month) because it was the time of year that they would harvest the barley for their favourite drink – Barley brew.

What is your favourite refreshing drink? Maybe you fancy trying something new this month? If so, here’s a recipe to try, maybe ask your live-in carer to make it at home for you? Tasty!

White Iced Tea

This recipe only takes 10 minutes to make and can be completely made to your own taste, by adding fresh herbs of your choice! So lots of room to experiment to find that perfect recipe! For maximum freshness, mix only a few hours before serving to keep the flavours distinct.

Ingredients:

4 White Tea Bags

4 Cups of Water

½ Cup Sugar

Fresh Tarragon Sprigs (To taste, or other herbs such as lavender or rosemary)

Instructions:

Steep 4 white tea bags in 4 cups boiling water, then chill.

Bring 1 cup of water and 1/2 a cup of sugar to a boil, add tarragon, and steep until cool. Sweeten to taste with the resulting tarragon syrup, which will add a liquorice note to the tea.

We hope you enjoy this beverage!
